Craps is an ancient game possibly orginating from ancient times of the rolling of bones which was done to divine the will of the gods, and that from this evolved the actual dice and various dice games which we now know icluding the popular Craps. Others beilieve Craps evolved from an early Arab game which passed through England, France and then North America. Whatever the history to this point, its known for sure that Craps was brought over to North America from Europe in the early 1700's. There are two main types of Craps played today, firstly Street Craps is the type you would find being played in informal settings and in any place which could hold the set up for the game. For Street Craps the betting is simplier, and someone must cover the bet so the game can progress.
Bank Craps on the other hand is the type played in casinos and which we are more interested in on this site. The betting is more complicated and the casino covers the bet so the players are in effect playing against the casino.
